You’re only 80 metres to Park Road! Park Road was one of the first café strips to emerge in Brisbane. With its fashion houses, enticing gift shops and extensive array or restaurants, cafes and bars, Park Road is known for bringing Europe to Brisbane.
Although you’ll have two car spaces in your new abode, you won’t need to take the car out very often with everything on your doorstep. The Milton Ferry is a casual six minute walk away, taking you to the far corners of Brisbane and her surrounds.
Walk north from your apartment and in ten minutes you’ll find yourself in the quaint suburb of Rosalie—bustling with cafes and restaurants, it’s the home of the Blue Room Cinebar and the Rosalie Gourmet Market. Keep wandering through the tree-lined streets and you’ll find yourself in Paddington.
Paddington is known for its antique and vintage shopping, boutique clothing stores and eclectic gift shops, plus Paddington offers everything from casual cafes to fine dining. Brisbane CDB is only a half hour walk away and if you’re looking to watch your favourite league team, or catch a concert at Suncorp Stadium, you’ll be the envy of those stuck in traffic as you make your way there in a quick ten minute walk from home.
Your options for exploration are endless! But here is an itinerary for a day out to get you started.
With the train station on your doorstep, jump aboard and make your way to Central Station. A short stroll and you’ll find yourself at Eagle Street Pier. Here you’ll find a handful of Brisbane’s best cafes and restaurants to enjoy breakfast at, right on the river.
After breakfast, wander through your city. Walk to King George Square where you’ll find the heritage listed Brisbane City Hall. Here you can take one of the free daily tours on offer, plus discover the Museum of Brisbane. With no entry fee, this is your perfect opportunity to learn more about the river city.
Now it’s time to make your way to the city’s hottest shopping precinct, Queen Street Mall. From fashion to homewares, you’re sure to find all your favourite stores. Make sure you explore the heritage listed Brisbane Arcade. Commissioned in the 1920s, Brisbane Arcade was established in a trust with its proceeds to support medical research; a tradition that still stands today. That’s almost guilt-free shopping!
Next on your adventure is Roma Street Parklands. Walk the lake precinct, take a seat in the amphitheatre and check out the honour board of Queensland’s Greats Awards recipients. Make sure you explore the subtropical rainforest and fern gully and get a bird’s eye view by taking the tree tops walk.
By now it’s time for lunch. Not far from the Parkland you’ll find The Barracks. Located at the top of the lively Caxton Street (home to Suncorp Stadium); The Barracks offers a range culinary delights.
After lunch, head west towards home and along the way, visit the legendary XXXX Brewery. Here you can find take a tour and find out more about the iconic Queensland brew house. A short three minute walk and you’re home.
Freshen up for dinner—just around the corner from your gorgeous apartment you’ll find Fromage The Cow on Park Road. It’s the cheese lover’s dream offering an assortment of the best cheeses you can find this side of the river! Stay on and experience their delectable menu. After dinner, you don’t need to worry about a taxi home—you’re just a two minute walk away!
