Meet our Mater Prize Home winner from lottery No.275

Our latest winner has picked up the keys to his new home and has retired from his work in the building industry. A long term supporter, Brian has been a $30 VIP Club member since 2013.

When we called Brian to tell him that he was the winner of the $1.6 Million Mater Prize Home lottery No. 275, it was his son’s birthday.  He couldn’t believe it; “This doesn’t happen to me!”

After the initial shock Brian shared the good news with family and friends, including his girlfriend and two sons. “The boys are so excited by the pool and having a TV in their rooms!”

“My friends were like, “Really?? How?” I think I have actually sold more VIP tickets in the last week and a half!” said Brian.

As a Brisbane local, Brian intends to move into the Birtinya home. With four bedrooms and three bathrooms, there is plenty of room for the whole family! But he is most excited about the kitchen, and getting to cook with the gas stove.

The Sunshine Coast prize also included a Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE and $100,000 worth of gold bullion.  The brand new Range Rover in arctic white, with a black roof is now parked in Brian’s driveway.

“[It was] never about winning a house, winning prizes or anything like that. It was more the fact that I was giving to Mater Foundation.”

Brian’s commitment to helping Mater Foundation and the vital work undertaken at Mater Research is crucial. With generous supporters like him, Mater can continue to be at the forefront of health research and translating that research into improved services and better healthcare outcomes for all.
