Visiting the prize home up for grabs in the latest Mater Prize Home lottery put us in a dream. The architecture was so unique and homely, and the interior decorating was stunning – giving life, purpose and aesthetic charm to every single corner.

It was hard to decide, but we’ve listed our 3 favourite things about the new prize home property sitting at 68 North Quay Circuit, Hope Island.

North Quay Circuit… it has a nice ring to it.

1. The Unique Architecture

We were first greeted by the house’s contemporary block design. The timber inlay was warm in the light and it felt like it was welcoming us inside. Once we stepped through the front door, we were blown away by the sight of grand glass walls and the beautiful wooden staircase – it was nicer than a fancy hotel.

Walking through the house and its massive space, it was incredible to see how natural light occupied every inch of it. And it was easy to imagine the living spaces filled with dozens of guests for a night-time party, but also quiet on a weekend morning for reading.

The contemporary architecture mixed with natural plants and glass walls make this house a paradise home.

2. The Kitchen Overlooking the Dining Area and Pool

At the heart of the home is a huge space, like an ocean with 3 islands: a living space, dining space and the kitchen. But it’s the kitchen that stood out to us here. It’s a striking feature, rather than a closed-off room. And it offers so much practical space, letting you separate cooking and preparation areas – and even snacking areas.

The location of the kitchen is really clever. There’s the big TV to one side, the pool and dining area to the next, and then the canal and alfresco dining area to the other side. It feels like a centre point, connecting different areas of the house.

With a BBQ nestled in the alfresco living area, you have a choice of two kitchens.

3. The Large Deck Area Overlooking the Canal

Being a canal front property with a large deck has its perks. The Hope Island view is the perfect setting for entertaining, whether you’re having a hot morning coffee or hosting dinner guests. And with banana chairs and beanbag seats, the outdoors can be enjoyed in luxury.

Thanks to intelligent architectural design, the transition from the house to the alfresco area, and then down to the deck, is seamless. It opens up the whole house to the view of the water and helps bring the tranquillity of it up into the home.

With the canal underneath each sunset, it’s a mesmerising sight.

Every detail about the North Quay Circuit property has been carefully thought out – that’s why we love it so much and are happy to offer it as a prize home for cancer fundraising. You can tour the property online and discover your own favourite things. Or purchase your tickets to win a home in the gorgeous Hope Island.
