The Highgate is one of Pointcorp’s luxury developments, offering residents exquisite north facing three bedroom apartments complete with Neil Perry kitchens. The unique façade of the building made of sleek glass captures your attention as it soars into the sky. The gardens, set upon 1.5 acres, are also architecturally designed.

These apartments are on the market for a cool $1.6 million + (the Mater Prize Home lottery No. 272 apartment and lifestyle is valued at $1.7 million) and are worth every penny.

It wasn’t long ago that these property prices were reserved for our southern counterparts such as Sydney and Melbourne. But Brisbane is seeing a growth in property due to a number of factors—low interest rates, investors, lifestyle and economics.

The market

While the median house price in Brisbane is $657,500 and apartments are $375,269, we are also seeing record sales such as the Kangaroo Point mansion that went for a whopping $18.48 million early this year.

The median house price in Highgate Hill is currently $1.1 million—so if you’re lucky enough to win the latest Mater Prize Home, you are winning on the property investment front too as these prices will only continue to increase!

The Brisbane market is geared towards long term growth; unlike Sydney and Melbourne its growth is slower and more stable.

Pointcorp choose to develop in Brisbane as it represents better value for money for investors; going so far as to say Brisbane is a property investment hotspot.

Brisbane City Council’s economic development plan

Jobs are one of the key links to property values, and Brisbane City Council is strategically working towards an economic plan to develop Brisbane into Australia’s New World City. Brisbane is reported to be the fastest growing metropolitan city in Australia and projections forecast rapid employment growth in the next two decades.

Brisbane City Council’s vision to create a massive 1.5 million jobs by 2031.

Why Brisbane?

There are so many reasons people flock to the Sunshine State—whether it’s for a holiday or permanent relocation—but we do know the weather is one great big pro! Whether it’s our southern counterparts, international visitors, the grey nomads or those who are lucky enough to live here, taking advantage of Queensland’s ‘winter’ is something to brag about.

The temperature in Brisbane during winter is usually between a mild 11 – 21°C. It is uncommon for temperatures to fall below 9°C overnight and the days are typically dry.

Autumn and Spring usually bring cool breezes to calm the slight humidity, with average temperatures between 15 – 25°C.

Summertime is always fun and gives you plenty of reason to really enjoy the outdoors, with temperatures averaging between 21 – 33°C. Although the humidity is at its highest during the summer months, it is also the season with the highest rainfall—which usually means you’ll have the chance to witness the incredible thunderstorms that dance across the Brisbane skies, also giving a reprieve to the heat.

Brisbane is a vibrant and welcoming city; it offers an array of cultural experiences found at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, fondly referred to as QPAC; as well the Queensland Museum, Gallery of Modern Art and the Science Centre. Not to mention the plethora of restaurants, cafes and bars to be found throughout the river city and along the river itself—such as West End to South Bank, the CBD and Brisbane’s Riverside precinct to New Farm, Teneriffe and Newstead, through to Portside and Hamilton Reach. The hardest choice will be deciding which locality to indulge in.

Brisbane continues to culturally expand and is a far cry from the quiet city is once was.
