Win Big and Roll Out

Written by Dave Carey

You could win a RAM 1500 TRX Final Edition pick-up truck featuring Mopar’s most unhinged motor and a custom-built Wildtrail Caravans 21-footer in Mater Cars for Cancer lottery No. 124. Big truck, big van; add to that $50K cashable gold bullion, and you’ve got a total prize worth over $450K.

RAM Towing Caravan

The RAM 1500 TRX Final Edition is a celebration of ridiculous horsepower and haste; V8 muscle car power in a $270,213 truck that can also pull big loads. And just like any classic muscle car, it’s a limited run with RAM building just 4000 examples, and Australia receiving a mere 140 of those. Released last year, there’s literally only one for sale online showing delivery kilometres as I write this, so if you want one, you could go buy that one. Or alternatively, have a go at winning this one.

RAM

The 6.2 litre, supercharged HEMI Hellcat V8 is taking a bow and exiting the building, replaced by a turbocharged inline six cylinder that while more efficient, is also much less powerful than the 553kw, 882Nm monster in the TRX’s engine bay. That’s enough grunt to propel the three tonne TRX Final Edition towards the horizon with surprising enthusiasm, clocking a 0-100km/h sprint in only 4.5 seconds.

While the TRX Final Edition will peel off sub-five seconds every time it’s asked to, the driving dynamics belie the RAM’s size, with coil springs all ‘round, massive Bilstein adaptive shockers and a ‘Baja’ drive mode, which softens the suspension and keeps the steering sharp for some super fun times on the dirty stuff. Pulling back onto the bitumen, a press of a button ties it all down and makes it all sensible again; turning the HEMI Hellcat-powered RAM TRX Final Edition into a pussycat – exactly what the winner of Mater Cars for Cancer lottery No. 124 will need to pull the Wildtrail Caravans 21-footer that comes with the RAM.

Caravan

Wildtrail Caravans specialise in bespoke builds catering to the discerning traveller, so much so, you don’t so much as buy one of their vans, but a spot on their production line. They liaise closely with their clientele to put together the ultimate caravan, but let’s be honest; some decisions can be overwhelming. Fortunately, Mater Cars for Cancer have done all the heavy lifting for you, specifying a layout that could fit the whole family, yet give everyone some space. The options list is about a mile long, and MeanderWild have once again come on board to fit out the rest, making any stay a pleasurable one.

The Wildtrail Caravan sleeps four, with a full-sized queen bed for the adults and bunks for the kids or guests. There’s also a fully appointed kitchen, ensuite, washing machine, and a slide out Weber Q barbie for those outdoor cook ups. MeanderWild have chucked a Nespresso machine in there too, so all the winner needs to do is stock the fridge, pack some clothes and roll out.

Every Mater Cars for Cancer draw is special, with prize pools often including legendary off-roaders, the most luxurious of accommodations and a decent chunk of cashable gold bullion. As a result, every lottery in recent memory has sold out early, and I’m banking this won’t be any different.

The RAM 1500 TRX Final Edition is set to become a sought-after classic; the swansong of the HEMI Hellcat, and the Wildtrail Caravan is a bespoke luxury van bar none. With a prize pool in excess of $450,000, get in on the chance to win big in lottery No. 124 before the tickets all roll out.
